All About the Content-Creating Weirdos at El Blasto
Well, maybe not all about us...
It all starts with being the "Creative Types" - you know the ilk. You're may even be the creative type like us, but you just don't have the time to act on it since you're busy running your business. That's fine by us - in fact, we're happy with that since you'll "get it" when we run our ideas by you.
If you're not the creative type like us, all the better. Just let us know what you're looking to achieve and we'll create a content marketing strategy to save you time while improving your business presence. You can sit back and let us do what you hired us to do: write content for your website, TV commercials, social media platforms, all within the envelope of an all-encompassing campaign. |
Strangely, some people want to actually know about us - like on a personal level. What do we do? What are we like? How did we get to be so good at something while being such weirdos? Well, fine. Here's a small bit of info about us.
Chili Burns is a Wiffle Ball Legend - no joke. He studied Radio, Television and Film Production at San Jose State University, then went on to work at ESPN in Bristol, CT, making highlights for SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight, and everything else you watch on ESPN. After a year of hating the weather in Connecticut and working 70 hours a week, Burns decided to move back to his native California. At that point, a recruiter noticed, "Oh - you're the creative type. We need you in Marketing."
During the dot-com days, Chili worked in Marketing until the mass layoffs hit, then he went on to work in the advertising industry as a copywriter, TV commercial producer and media planner. After traditional media was overtaken by internet marketing, Chili moved on to internet marketing, working with a global Search Engine Optimization (SEO) firm, managing internet marketing accounts for global brands. Chili also coaches baseball, plays guitar, and loves long walks on the beach... no, seriously... romantic or not, long walks on the beach are kinda his thing. Oh yeah - and black coffee. He likes black coffee. |
Ryan earned the nickname "El Blasto" years ago when he found he had an uncanny knack for safely blowing things up in the woods in Iowa. After a reckless childhood, El Blasto eventually moved to California to pursue his career in music.
El Blasto is one of those musical-genius types - a clear sign of being the incurable creative type. He can pick up an instrument, look at it, ask someone a few questions about it, then just play the MF'er with no problems, making other people sick who have practiced for years. Blasto saw relative success in music with several bands, but always fell prey to the "flaky musician" syndrome that other musicians had in his bands (drummers who smoked pot instead of coming to rehearsal; singers who were raging alcoholics; guitar players who just plain ol' sucked). Now, we've used his nickname as our brand for content marketing so we'll intentionally scare away the wrong client list and attract the perfect client list (hopefully, that's you). Oh yeah - El Blasto likes staying up late. Total night owl. |
